Hello!  My name is Joy Goforth and I teach Social Studies 8-11, English 12 and a lot of electives including, French 8 and 9,  Art 8-12, Foods 10-12, Textiles, Geography 12, Earth Science 11, Law 12, Psychology, and Family Studies 10-12.

My husband and I have been in the Creston Valley for 16 years and love it!  I have 8 children and 10 grandchildren, so school just seems like an extension of home to me.

I have one goal and hope with my students and that is to teach them a love of learning and how to learn.  The ‘what’ person learns isn’t as important as learning how to ask good questions.  Once you have good questions, the direction for finding the answers becomes clearer.

I am an avid crafter and reader.  I love to scrapbook, sew and do any kind of needlework.  I love reading just about anything from mysteries, to fantasy and science fiction, but I am on a historical fiction bend right now as I love history and the stories bring the events to life.

My favourite thing to do is to spend time with family and friends relaxing at our cabin on Seton lake near Lillooet BC, with no phone or TV distractions; just the great outdoors and the fine art of real conversation to entertain.
