Homelinks is staying OPEN!
The recent discussion surrounding the closure of the Creston Education Centre have many community members misinformed. We would like to make it clear that this discussion, is on the closure of the building and the relocation of the Homelinks program, not the closure of the program. On the contrary Homelinks Creston School is growing!
On July 5, 2016 the Board held a Special Open Board Meeting. At this meeting the Consideration of Closure of the Creston Education Centre was as follows:
The Board passed readings one and two of a closure bylaw effective February, 2018
The Board intends to continue discussions with interested civic and regional governments as well as other interested parties that may wish to take on the capital costs of the building from the district in order to maintain community programming – and possible district programming.
Communities of families, students, teachers, and school district staff committed to developing and delivering individualized distance educational programs that will build success for each student and respect the values and priorities of each family.
